I would like to delete the icons of uninstalled apps from my Kindle Fire. I like to try Free or Lite apps before buying them, and my App section has quickly become cluttered with duplicate app icons (free and paid), not to mention the apps i never wanted in the first place and can't get rid of (Facebook and ESPN). As a result of apparently not being able to FULLY delete apps, I am less adventurous and less likely to try the free and lite apps, and therefore less likely to spend $ on the full versions. Is there a way to remove them, or is there an software update for this coming?
Go to http://amazon.com/myk, then scroll down, and toward the bottom of the.left sideboard, there's a.link to manage apps. Click there, then find the apps you want to remove permanently, and click the actions.button and select delete. Note that this is permanent, and if you accidentally delete something you want to keep, you have to pay for it again.
When you get back to your kindle, click the gear, then click sync, and then wait a minute or two, and it should clear out the deleted apps from your cloud.
Sign on to Amazon with the same account you used to register your Fire. Go to the "Your Account" page and select "Your Apps and Devices" (under the Digital Content section). You'll find all the apps you've downloaded there, with an "Actions..." button at the right. Click the Actions button for the apps you want to remove, and select "Delete this app".
BE WARNED - THIS IS PERMANENT. IF YOU DECIDE YOU WANT THE APP AFTER DELETING IT YOU'LL HAVE TO BUY IT AGAIN!
I tried this previously (and again), but the icon remains in the Apps (Cloud) section of the Kindle Fire, even though it has been permanently deleted as you instructed above from my Kindle account on http://amazon.com. When I exit and reenter my account to manage my apps, it is gone completely, but after syncing (a few times), it is still on the Kindle Fire. Is there a 24-hour update or something?
I opened "app store " and deleted cache and data, after doing the above suggestion (going into manage my Kindle and deleting them from my account) and the annoying icons ate now (finally) gone for good. Should he easier than all that. Delete should =delete!
If all fails and still you get no results. My suggestion is to restore the kindle fire to its factory settings. Before you re-register your kindle fire make sure to delete any apps (you can actually delete) from you account via http://amazon.com. I tried this and it worked instantly, I just had to re-download the apps in my cloud and hook back up to wifi. Hope this helps!
If you want to remove an app (unless it's a pre-installed app) from the cloud, go to your account --> apps and devices and delete from there. Note that the app will be gone forever and you will have to repurchase the app if you ever want to use it again.
JAK Paz - follow Handbag Junkie's instructions. Note that she means on-line, not on your device. That's how you delete apps from the cloud. It will take a while (and possibly a few syncs or even a reboot) before they disappear from the "Cloud" listing on your Fire.
