xxx says:
Does the kindle fire require a power/voltage transformer or just a plug adapter to be used in Europe?
Your reply to xxx's post:
To insert a product link use the format: [[ASIN:ASIN product-title]] (What's this?)

I currently live in Spain and use an adapter. Having a Fire kind of sucks now though- I am blocked from buying any digital content with the exception of books.

I went to the Dominican Republic Kindle fire worked perfectly fine overseas if there is WIFI where you are. If not is just fine to read your books.

I used mine in Sri Lanka, which uses same style 220V receptacles as Middle East/Europe. Almost all digital device (Kindle, Nook, Cell phones, Laptops, etc.) transformer/chargers will auto sense 110V or 220V and work without any user action other than making sure you have the right adapter. One caveat about the Kindle, i couldn't download Fountains of Paradise by Arthur C. Clarke in Sri Lanka due to copyright issues, according to the message I got on my screen. Go figure, the guy lived there for 30 years!
