Wayne says:
I assume you are asking about the 7" HDX - It has a camera for selfies - ie a front-facing camera. No flash, low resolution too

Jerry says:
Sorry Wayne is should have been more clear. I'm interested in the Big Fire HDX 8.9. Does that have a camers facing out?

Yes, it has a 720 pixel front facing camera for Skype. It also has a 8 megapixel rear camera with an LED flash.

Just make sure you understand that only the 8.9" model has that rear-facing camera and flash.

Carbonbased says:
Swipe down from the top, touch the last icon on the right to open the settings menu.
Touch Device; last item is 'Reset to Factory Settings'

Alternately, try 'My Account' and 'Deregister'

Carbonbased, thank you. It worked well. Also my wife figured out deleting the picture.

Is there a way to do pictures that aren't selfies please? Been searching but can't find any info on the HDX fire. This.

Hold it pointing over your shoulder.

Or just lift it above your head.

Or buy a ...y'know... a camera.

King Al says:
The purpose of the camera is to Skype, NOT to take photographs.

Well I guess you should buy a device that has what you want. Not all tablets have to have the same features.

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 16, 2014 7:24:31 AM PDT
They were thinking about how infuriating it is when goofballs hold up tablets in front of them to take photographs. Have you read my manifesto? It includes the fact that a fat brick should be put through the tablets of people who use them as cameras.

If you want to take photos, get a camera.

You can take outward pictures as well as selfies. Go to camera and you'll see an icon that's like 2 circle arrows, hit that and it switches.

In reply to an earlier post on Mar 15, 2015 3:24:16 AM PDT
I'll give it a try. This is actually a positive response for once!

In reply to an earlier post on Mar 15, 2015 3:34:31 AM PDT
:-( I don't have any circle arrows! At the bottom I have a little house, a left-pointing arrow (to go back), then I have a circle which takes the picture, followed by a picture of the last picture iI tookthen a sort of sunshine. At the top left there's a camera symbol with a little hat on.

A. Dietz says:
You can't do that on the original Kindle Fire HDX, it only has a front-facing camera.

In reply to an earlier post on Mar 16, 2015 8:59:42 AM PDT
Just for an instant I was confident it might work! Thanks all for your help. Much appreciated.
