I would like to organize the books on my Kindle Fire library. I see on the Kindle touch that you can put books into Collections. Is there anything like this on the Fire? I don't want to have to scroll through lots of books to find what I want - and I can't always remember a title to do a search......

You can "save to favorites" which puts the books on the shelves below the Carousel. Once there, you can drag them around and sort them. It's far from perfect, but it's all we have at this time.

Let your opinion be known to Amazon as well.

@Patrelle: No. If you want, you can keep it plugged in perpetually without damaging it.

Hint: This is a different topic which has nothing to do with this thread's title. Next time, start at forum page one, scroll down below the other entries and start a new discussion.

I guess I am being a dunce, but how/where do I get a 'save to favorites' option?

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 1, 2011 2:49:10 PM PST
Do a "long hold" on the book and the option will pop up.

If you're speaking of the Fire, simply press and hold on the book. You will get the option to "add to favorites." After adding, you can hold and press to move it where you want it on the shelves.

Amelio & Deannah - thanks for the info! It works! It is not perfect - but better than looking through every book/app I have. It will help me remember which books I want to read first! Thanks again!

Sorry Skeezix, I did not notice the box on the right side of the screen.... I looked for a search option, but I was looking at the top of the page and the bottom. Thank you for showing me where it is!!! I will make sure to use it next time I have a question.... As you can tell, I am a newbie to the forums!

Don't put too much faith in the search feature here. It is almost useless. There is no sort at all, not even a simple by "Date."

If you notice on posts, in the upper right, there is a 'In reply to an earlier post'. If you click on the highlighted 'an earlier post' you can determine what post the responder was referring to.

Hey Skeezix,

Guess how I found your unhelpful answer.

It always cracks me up when people that tell others to use search don't actually seem to know how it works themselves.

Who says that the Fire is the "top end" Kindle? It's a tablet device that is able to be used to read ebooks.

I just purchased about twenty albums from the Amazon store and they all downloaded into a folder called "latest additions" on my book case. VERY WONDERFUL !! That leads me to think they are working on a folder structure.
