You should be able to copy from the cd to the Fire over the usb cable. Of course the comic book must be in a Kindle readable format.

The Kindle Fire has a virtual keyboard like the iPad. You can also use a bluetooth keyboard with it.

Yes, I have a Kindle and seldom have it online (except to downline new books) I got a Kindle Fire for my husband but it appears to always be online (wifi).
