Why can only USA customers lend on Kindle?

Dittie says:
Because it's up to the copyright holders.

Why do you drive down the wrong side of the road??

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 15, 2012 12:32:47 PM PST
Dittie says:
It's only the wrong side if you're driving up. Just sayin'.

Book owners on Lendle allow books to be lent, but when requesting them I am taken to the Amazon USA site which will not allow me to borrow them . . .something very wrong.

Meya says:
Using Lendle doesn't change the restriction.

Jazzy_Jeff says:
Yea, you live in the wrong country. If you want lending on some books you will need to move. We are not giving up this country specific right for anybody....

Right on the lower part of their home page, it says this:

"We regret that Lendle is currently only available in the United States. We expect Amazon to allow book lending elsewhere soon."

In their FAQs, it says this:

"Requirements
Does Lendle work with non-U.S. Amazon accounts?

Unfortunately, at this time Amazon only allows book lending for U.S. customers. As such, Lendle does not support users outside of the United States."

You expect people to read?? Get real...

Dittie says:
A U.S. copyright doesn't give the copyright holder global or even international rights.

Dittie says:
I was going to but it turns out there are no good ones left to borrow in the U.S.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 15, 2012 12:44:23 PM PST
Dittie says:
Yeah, you can do whatever you want with it, except promote it here.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 15, 2012 12:44:41 PM PST
Meya says:
So, this is just a sneaky way to spam your book? Self promotion isn't allowed in this forum. You can be very sure that you have just alienated a lot of potential readers.

Meya says:
Every one of your posts will be reported for self-promotion.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 15, 2012 12:48:36 PM PST
Dittie says:
Copying the same comment without the title doesn't undo the title in the other post. Blame it on a reading comprehension problem. That always works.

It was not my intention to self promote, it was a simple observation to the problem I was asking advise for .
