Hi all,

This is a revised set of instructions to install Flash on the new Kindle Fire models. I took the apk files from the XDA Developers Forum and put them into a public Dropbox folder to make it easier for people to access.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

To install Flash: (You have to have a Flash compatible browser in order to install Flash. You can't install it under Silk.)

Do the following on the Fire/Fire HD itself:

Swipe down from the top > More > Device > Allow Installation of Applications.

Install ES File Explorer: ES File Explorer

Download and install the Dolphin HD and Flash Player apk files from this link:

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/9d8gxh75f0747f1/83fV5m6x2c

Once both files are downloaded to your Fire, open ES File Explorer and look in the "Downloads" folder. You should see both files there. Install Dolphin HD *first* by tapping on the icon. Then install Flash.

Does this work for the 2nd generation non HD fires?

yes, if you look at Laura's subject line:

"To Install Flash on the 2nd Gen Fire or Fire HD - Instructions"

it DOES say 2nd Gen Fire.

Did you use the version in Laura's post?

edited ...sorry, I got you mixed up with another poster

2: The version of the Dolphin browser that is in Laura's link is the one that will allow you to continue installing Flash. Later versions of the browser will not work.

Meredith - It didn't work on my daughter's Fire either and I followed the link in the post. I will try again later.

Asking a question is becoming a bit of a rough situation. I will avoid the forum in the future. I feel like I stepped into a hostile zone.

Coleen thanks for your help I will try the steps again. This flash situation is a pain. I have learned to deal with the lack of on my iPad but I take it for granted on my 1st generation.

Good luck. Laura has been helping people install Flash for a long time, and many many people have been successful doing so.

When i click buy es file explorer it say it is in my apps library but it is not. I can get games to install just fine but it seems like anything related to flash is being blocked by something. Yes i turned the allow installation of applications to yes.

Oh, I won't. I never do what Nanny tells me, anyway. I just roll my eyes, stick out my tongue, tell Dad she was mean to me, and he fires her.

any way you can make that http link clicky?

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 26, 2012 11:03:35 AM PST
non-Amazon links you can't make "clicky".

Can't you copy/paste?

Posted on Dec 26, 2012 11:13:13 AM PST
Not from the kindle fire, and typing in the link in its entirety is getting me an error page . I can copy and paste and see where I need to be in my computer but I don't know how get those down loads onto the fire . so you put them in the document folders like PDF FILES? This is pretty stinking frustrating!!
