Has anyone else seen the expected delivery date on their Kindle Fire HD 8.9 inch (NOT 4G LTE) slip to Nov 28???

I ordered literally the minute they became available for preorder on 9/6 with 2 day Prime shipping. The website says they will be released on Nov 20, but my expected delivery date is now Nov 28. What's that about? Why aren't they giving release date delivery for the very first preorders placed?

I placed my order yesterday and received a delivery date of 11/24.

I placed mine on Thursday and it says 11/26. I think it somewhat depends on one's location.

Last year (since this is the holiday season) even prime members got bumped past the arrival in stores. They delivered to retail a week before expected delivery. I ended cancelling my pre-order, and busing down to Target same day service.

I received my Fire one day early, the day before the release date, last year.

Many people didn't.

Not exactly shipping in the order it was received then. Oh well.

Be patient.
In all likelihood Amz will do a coordinated delivery on release day. They like to underpromise and overdeliver.
It was the same last year with various dates - most everyone got it on the 15th or 16th

does anyone know if amazon is going to release the 8.9 before november?

Just Theo says:
Did you order any accessories? Cover, screen protectors? If you did, change the shipping to 'ship my items as they become available'. I wasn't supposed to get my 7" until October 3rd, when I changed the shipping, I got it on the 18th instead.

Alas, Tiffany, that won't make a difference (at least not right now) with the larger KF HD. I ordered ONLY the 8.9 in KFHD within a minute of when they went on sale, with 2 day Prime shipping. Mine shows an estimated arrival date of Nov 28. The release date remains Nov 20. It's unlikely that it will ship before the 20th, although the actual arrival date might be earlier than the current estimate by a few days (at least it SHOULD be given how quickly I ordered).

Just Theo says:
I'm not saying it will come earlier than release date. I am just saying that it may come sooner than 11/28 if you group items separately.

I ordered mine on Sept 29th. 4g HD 8.9 16gb w/ SO and delivery date is Nov 21st. Got my email this week and already confirmed my place in line. Really really surprised about the mini Ipad at $329. I thought the whole point of a mini Ipad was to compete with 7" kindle fire at $199. I heard the mini was going to be $199 but then they offer it for $130 more? Whatever! Take your I pad and shove it. Im an Amazonian now. We are smarter and know value when we see it. Thanks Jeff! P.S. ordered the fast charger and have already recieved it. Also order ink blue cover. Love my royal purple cover for my paperwhite so I know I will love the ink blue.

My delivery date of November 26 has remained the same since I ordered it. I chose the $299 base model. It suits my needs perfectly.

I did receive my Casecrown cover yesterday but had to reorder my Mi Tab cover as Ammy deleted the order when the company hadn't shipped it within the 31 day period between order date and shipping.

Fortunately, it went down in price so no big deal. As I do have a case for it, it doesn't really matter if the second cover arrives before or after the Fire. *shrug*

C. Mayer says:
I think this depends on your the day you ordered, your location, the location of the nearest distribution center and their stock of the product. I ordered mine with prime one day shipping from the git go. Maybe that is why I have a Nov 21 delivery date. I wouldnt sweat it though. Amazon typically likes to get you merchandise early unless they have trouble with getting the stock to ship. At which case they will give you a gift cert or something. Just wait and see. And yes it says ESTIMATED. Amazon says that to give themselves some wiggle room. :)

If I go to track my orders, it says my delivery date is 11/24-12/4, but I agree with C. Mayer, many times you get things earlier than expected. I'm in Colorado and I ordered mine in September. I also ordered the $299 Fire.

Just checked mine.
Still scheduled for Nov 26th delivery.

Lark says:
Here's what I figured out. If I pay for one day shipping ($19.98) the estimated delivery date is 11/21. If I pay for 2 day shipping ($12.98) the estimated delivery date is 11/26. If I leave it on the free shipping the estimated delivery is 11/28-12/4. Since I'm using $22 in points on my /amazon credit card, I figured I'd go with the one day shipping and get it a week earlier. I ordered it 9/2 and I want it as soon as possible. My BF has his 7" HD and is playing with it all the time (sigh) while I look on with envy.

Checked mine as well. Still scheduled for 11/21. Edit: Prime with $3.99 next day shipping, Wife ordered it for me on 9/6.

I ordered my Kindle Fire 8.9 (no 4g) on 10/4 and it still says that I will get it on 11/26. I do not mind the wait because that falls on a day I have the night before off so it will not be hard to stay up for UPS.

I am a Prime member with 2 day free shipping but just avoiding the shipping charge is good enough for me. I will just have to use my OLD Kindle Fire until then.

My date was 11/26 like many here. Changed shipping to One Day (was Prime 2 day). Delivery instantly changed to 11/20. Read this tip on Kindleboards.com. The Thanksgiving holiday is causing 2 day Prime to slip to 11/26.

I am off all Thanksgiving week, so the $3.99 one day was worthwhile for me......

I ordered the 7" 32gb with standard shipping and my estimated delivery was 10/31-11/3. I received it on 10/26 and didn't pay shipping at all. I learned the last time I paid next day shipping when the Kindle Fire 1st gen was released and got it 3 days later (they refunded my shipping charge) while those that went with standard shipping got theirs before I did.

I know it's not the 8.9" but I feel you will get them well before the estimated ship date, baring they have no fulfillment issues and weather problems at the time.
