I put my daughter's new kindle on my Amazon account. Can I buy her a gift card that will only be deducted from for purchases from her Kindle? Maybe I should have created an account for her.

I have the same issue - I think we have to just make an account for the kids. I hate that, but it is what it is. I'm hoping I can put a gift card in instead of a credit card, so when it's run out, it's over.

You can just password protect purchases, which is what I did for my 9 year old, my 12 year old is responsible enough to purchase anything without asking me and giving me the money. My 9 year old wouldn't do it on purpose, but one-click makes it to easy to accidentally purchase something.

Oh, and no, if she is on your account as soon as the gift card is used up it will default to your credit card on record unless you password protect purchases.
