Welcome Yall to FREE Books & Chat Saturday edition.
Secret Santas and Elves are wandering about but please be sure to share in the discussion and share your picks.
This is a place where everyone knows your name and we are always glad you came.
Good friends gathering and sharing recipes, humor, RL and lots of free books.
Hope you make make yourself comfortable and have time to stay awhile during all the festivities.

A TRUE FRIEND
A true friend doesn't care when you're broke, being a biotch, what you weigh,
if your house is a mess, what you drive, about your past,
or if your family is filled with crazy people.
Your conversations pick up where they left off,
even if it has been months (or years) apart.
They love you . . . for who you are.

~~~ Treasured friends are a gift throughout the year. ~~~
I always worry about you for some reason. We've never met or anything but when I check threads and don't see you posting I'm worried for you. How are the headaches? Any good come from the injections yet?
Good morning Kay Kay and Nospin. What a lovely start Kay Kay! Thank you. Treasured friends truly are a gift.
I can hardly believe its only four days to Christmas. Today I am starting my baking. A little later than usual so I'll probably cut back a bit on what I usually make. Sugar cookies for sure and fudge and Snickerdoodles. Beyond that we'll see.....
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas Kay Kay! How are your Christmas preparations going?
Thanks - I'm a little behind so to speak. Got my secret santa done but that is all that is completed. I rarely do the big public things like shopping ( no immune system) but baking today also!
Migraines haven't been too bad lately - they aren't lasting days right now. Spring and Fall are the worse for the three day migraines. Neck is still an issue.
Pain is always with me - it is just a matter of degree.
Laughter is the best medicine and we often find it here!
It's so true Nospin. Laughter is the best medicine and there's no negative side effects either. I'm glad to hear that the migraines are better. It's a shame that your neurologist can't help you with your neck pain.
Have you tried any alternative things, like acupuncture for example? I realized a year ago that the doctors probably weren't going to be able to help me and I really had nothing to lose by doing some alternative treatments. I hope today is a good day for you Nospin. ;~)
@Nospin maybe this will help you I used to get a migraine at least once a week between 2 to 3 days (nausea spots left side pain real not just headache) we did home improvements took all the carpets out and put in wooden floors and tiles since we have done this 6 yrs now maybe get 1/2 migraines a year we joke and say the home improvements was the best thing we could have done for my health can tell you would never have wall to wall carpets ever again I am also very careful with chocolate can only have one or two pieces where DH can eat whole slab lastly very strong perfumes they are a trigger as I am typing sure you know all this but if not maybe one of these will help you.
Susan says:
Bookworms Anonymous by Jan Stafford Kellis - Part memoir, part cookbook, and part informational guide, Bookworms Anonymous is a laudatory examination of reading as a hobby, diversion, obsession, even sport. The book features a Bookworm's eye view of eight meetings as well as menu plans, recipes, and instructions for establishing your own chapter of the fresh, frugal, fun book club known as Bookworms Anonymous.
The book includes lists of the club's favorite reads, Book Handling Commandments, book shuffling and other literary athletic pursuits, strategies for finding reading time every day, anecdotes about life in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, and many book reviews (mostly positive).
A light, fun read, it makes a great gift for any reader in your life.
B.J. says:
Good morning all you elfs. I'm sure everyone has a busy day coming up, as I do. Nospin, probably no use to you but a little trivia - my husband had migraines for years, debilitating migraines. During this time, he had a crown on a molar that gave him no problems at all. Finally, it did start acting up and his dentist said it was time to yank it out. Howard never had another migraine after pulling that tooth.
Looks like shopping, cleaning, cooking, wrapping today for me. On a prayer and a Lortab...
BJ
