I have tried Pulse and am thinking of trying Flipboard.
Which do you prefer and why?
Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

I actually didn't like either and use JustReader (Google Reader)

Word to the wise: Do not bother to spend the $2.99 on the upgrade key since you don't get any added features that I can find. It just removed the teeny tiny ads that I never really noticed anyway.

I tried Pulse and didn't like it. I like Fipboard fine, but my favorite is Zite.

I use Pulse all the time and love it.....its part of my morning ritual when i grab my first cup of coffee. The interface is outstanding, and it is so customizable that I can add anything I want...even make my own topics page.

[EDITED] Checking out Flipboard now and Zite only available for Android phones....and Flipboard not optimized for tablets....but we will see :)

Just gave FlipBoard a "flip" and have to say I MUCH prefer Pulse. FlipBoard does not auto-rotate on my tablet, and "flipping" thru the stories is much more time consuming than on Pulse. Pulse allows me to rapidly scan all the stories in its layout, then pick the ones that interest me better. So I am going to stick with Pulse :)

I enjoy Pulse more and prefer it over Flipboard. Seems to be more customizable for my needs. .

Surveyah, Pulse is also part of my morning ritual, too. Make coffee, and (this time of year) put on my fluffy robe and head out to the patio with my nice hot coffee and my Fire. First, a scan thru emails, then onto Pulse to read all my favorite news sites and blogs. Life is good :)

Do you know how to cancel a link in Pulse? By mistake I must have added one I don't like and I don't know how to get rid of it.

bythesea,

When on a page showing the list of your sources, press the menu along the bottom of the page and then press "Manage Sources". Find the source (link) you aren't interested in and click the X to the right of its name. it should remove it from the list.

Edited to add... OR Press the gear thingee on the top left corner of the page... that also takes you to the list of your sources.

I like Flipboard and it is free, so get it and see if you like it better. If not, delete it.

Is this the same on the Kindle Fire HD which is what I have now? I'll try what you suggested. Thanks.

I use AP mobile, USA Today, NPR, Zite, Flipboard, Pulse, News360, NewsPro (Reuters), and more. I like them all for their unique layouts and in about 30 minutes going through them all and highlighting long stories to go to Pocket. After that I feel I've pretty much covered the news at that time. I use an iPad 3 so some of these might not be available for Android, but most probably are.

I really like Pulse. Haven't tried any of the others mentioned here. Pulse is very easy to customize, seems to work well on all platforms (phones, tablets, etc...both Android and iOS), and is free, which I'm guessing most of the other alternatives are free as well. Which means - you can try most (if not all) of them and decide which on will work best for you. ;)
