DTBs come in different sizes... Should publishers also be required to make all physical books the exact same size?

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 29, 2012 1:03:35 PM PST
And what if the publishers refuse?

Physical medium and digital medium are clearly different. That's like asking if a digital release should come with linen covers or a tri-fold case. I'm looking for honest insight, not snarky replies.

B. Gentry says:
If publishers refuse that's fine. I'm just wondering if it's because a lack of guidelines on Amazon's part, a general indifference, or, as you suggested, a refusal by publishers.

Sounds like an unnecessary control issue to me. Might be visually pleasing (to me), but really!

"...a gigantic oversight..." ?

Really? Mayyyyybe a minor "Hmmn. I wonder why not." But Gigantic Oversight?

No.

Nevermind internet, thanks for the snarky comments and zero answers. Alas.

We're other customers, not Amazon, not the entire freakin' internet. Not everyone wants what you want, at least not enough to complain about it to people who can't do anything about it. If you can't take a little snark from people who don't agree with you, tough.

Wait. I'm not the end-all and be-all of the internet? Waaaaaaaah!

It's a little OCD to need every cover to be the same size. Oooops. Did I say that out loud?

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 29, 2012 1:47:52 PM PST
How could you be? I am.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 29, 2012 1:49:00 PM PST
Yes, yes, you did. I don't really care except that you said it out loud to me. Why? Why would you do that? Tell me! I have to know and I have to know RIGHT NOW!

Cassie Anne says:
I'm much more concerned that words aren't used/spelled properly in books, myself. I'd rather tackle that issue before the cover size issue.

But that's just me.

Cassie Anne says:
Waaaaah! "They" told me I'm speshul! I *must* be the reason the internet exists. I *must* be!

Not just you, Cassie Anne. I'd much rather see well-edited books with unattractive covers than the prettiest cover ever created on the "carpiest" book ever written.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 29, 2012 1:55:27 PM PST
It's fun to watch you flap.

Hmmmn...you know, that's a telling statement, now ain't it?

MommaCat says:
She called us "internet"? How very generic. I much prefer Queen of the Internet, Lady Protector and Goddess of All.

Think I'll go change it. Anna never used that one.
