Is there anyway to disallow amazon to sell my browsing or shopping information with a third party?

Considering that Amazon hasn't implemented this program yet, I doubt they've bothered to build "op out" features yet.

And besides, based on my reading of that article, they aren't going to sell your personal information. They are simply going to direct ads to you based on your browsing and purchase history. The advertisers don't need to have personal information about you for this to happen.

Don't panic.

That article only suggests as an admitted rumor that Amazon will advertise similar to Google, not sell personal data. sheesh.

KZ is an infamous Fire basher in the reviews section and doesn't always feel constrained by facts and the such.

J. Gatie says:
I'm with Erich and Old Rocker, they aren't selling your data, they are directing you to certain ads, just like Google and Apple do now. If you seriously don't want your info collected, stay off the internet.

Shut up. I love amazon. I do a lot of my shopping on amazon. I am only asking questions and providing facts.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't have to wait for the Christmas rush, I can start ignoring immediately.

Dog Lover says:
No - you are "providing" second-hand rumours.

Not the same thing as "facts."
