Thank you, Craig. You are always the first to post when something I've been waiting for becomes available. :)

Page 8 says the light can be turned off by pressing and holding the.- sign.

I know some were concerned about that.

Hot damn! I have been checking every day but today and am glad Craig is on top of things! With all of my Kindles I have downloaded and read the manual prior to receiving the device, and it has always been very helpful. Thank you, Craig.

This link doesn't work for me; it just brings me right back here. I googled it.

Craig says:
I was checking my order for the shipping date, then checked the product page. The manual is linked there in the tech details. If the direct link isn't working for some reason, try that link.

Thanks for posting that link - it worked fine for me just now.

Ok I got through the link on the tech details, thank you for suggesting that Craig. I still don't know why the link doesn't work for me, but anyway I got it now so thank you everyone for your help :)

How many dictionaries are included with Paperwhite? It doesn't say how many in the pdf user guide. Kindle Touch has two dictionaries: The New Oxford American Dictionary (the default) and the Oxford Dictionary of English. It was mentioned in the Kindle Touch pdf user guide.

By the way Craig, can you play Words With Friends on the Paperwhite?

Posted on Oct 1, 2012 2:05:37 PM PDT
Craig says:
I don't believe so. The PW will handle "active content" but not apps.

Just got Paperwhite with 3G--most expensive sold.
Now, can I turn off the annoying Amazon Special Deals that consume page space in Home and Screensaver?

In reply to an earlier post on Oct 3, 2012 7:22:31 PM PDT
 Ann says:
You can unsubscribe from the Special Offers, if you like. Go to your Manage Your Kindle page ( http://amazon.com/myk ), click on "Manage Your Devices", then click the unsubscribe link next to your device.

Note that the recommendations on the Home screen are separate from the offers and will not go away when you unsubscribe.

How do you set the correct time? My time is a little off. So far I just love my Paperwhite!!!

OK - First of all.........I love the Paperwhite!!! However, this is my first Kindle and I'm a wee bit lost. I've tried to create a New Collection - which I believe I have, as when I tried to redo it, I got the message that the collection already exists. But I can't find it.....where do I find the collection, as far as I know there is nothing in it as I was on the wrong page when I created it and had wanted to get to the right page so tried swiping to get to the book I had just read (Collection is called Already Read) to put it in that collection but nothing happened, or so I thought, except that I now have a collection I can't find.

I know it's probably a "DUH!!!" sort of question,....sorry

In reply to an earlier post on Oct 17, 2012 11:23:43 AM PDT
Craig says:
In order to see the collection, you have to sort your home page by collection. You'll see the collections first in alphabetical order, then books that are not part of any collection listed underneath.

I downloaded a free book just to see how the paperwhite worked. I read a couple of pages and a window pops up asking me to rate the book and share. I X it out and try to continue reading and it just gives me the rating page again. I have to actually get out and come back in to the number I got at the bottom of the kindle.

What am I doing wrong? Maybe this happens if the unit is low on battery. If so it should say so.

Does the unit come charged? I can't tell if it fully charged or fully not charged.

Thanks for anyhelp

Serendipity says:
That's strange, i've only ever had that when I have reached the end of the book. The unit comes partially charged; I suggest you use it until the charge is completely gone, they charge it fully.

I had to send one KPW back because it was doing tons of really strange things, most of which seemed to be unique to the unit. Thankfully the new one I have is working fine :)
