It is real easy. Just connect the Kindle to your computer with the USB cord and copy the files to the Kindle drive. Eject the Kindle device and enjoy.

There are also apps like the one linked above that will let you transfer files (or just browse and use them) using only the wireless connection. I haven't used one on my Kindle, though there are several available to choose from. I use one on my iPad for playing MP3's that reside on my PC. I just take the iPad out by the pool, fire up a bluetooth speaker, connect to my PC with the file manager app, and I can browse my folders and select any music I wish to play.
