I just got my new Kindle Paperwhite, was able to connect the WiFi -- even downloaded a book. Now, all I have on the screen is ad for Norton.. it won't go away.... I can't anywhere..... what do I need to do to at less get to the HOME icon? Thanks

Wake it. Press and release the power switch. The quick-start guide is in a slot in the top of the box, just FYI.

Also --- the quick start guide was a joke --- only told me how to "charge" it.

I was just letting you know because lots of people don't see it there. The full user manual is an e-book on the device.

Did you get an email from Amazon about your new kindle when it was shipped? It would have links to online user guide.

I did, and I read all of it..... but I don't remember anything about this "wake up" button.. but then, they say, "short term memory is the first to go...." Will now review it all... and special thanks for you taking time to help me...

I highly recommend spending time in front of your computer with the Kindle in your hand as you read through the help pages online. If this is your first ereader, it probably does things you never thought about looking for.
