....and I disagree that people in Denver know how to drive in snow. Too many transplants from California.

I really don't feel that Christmas is a main part of the book so you could read it anytime....

@Snowlady Sandy Shops, Thanks for the recommendation on It Really IS a Wonderful Life: Contemporary Christian Romance Fiction (Christmas Romance Best Seller). I put it on my TBR list, but know I won't get to it before Christmas.

@elaineb, Which book did you pick? I'm still trying to decide which one to get for a buck.

@Courtney,
No, I didn't notice the shipping cost. Thanks for pointing that out. Shipping cost of $13.12 on item that costs $3.50 is crazy. And that is before they know where you are shipping it to! Bet they don't sell many thru online sales. Have to definitely remember not to move that to shopping cart.

I got that joke a long time ago but I still find it funny. Glad you enjoyed it.
I, too, prefer a green Christmas. If not green, at least a colorless liquid rather than white frozen stuff.

People in Denver know how to drive in snow, why would you get a snow day?

Will be checking on you all---not only for the books but for the entertainment :)) Good night all..............

@ Robb, I enjoyed the joke about the people from PNW being too soggy for hell, as a Pacific Coaster I could relate, since we have had rain, hail, wind, more hail, rain, more hail and snow for the last 2 days it looks like we will have a white Christmas from the hail which has built up enough to cover the ground and frost the pine trees. *sigh* I really prefer a green Christmas with grass and no snow.

This e-book looks fun [ Deedee Divine's Totally Skewed Guide to Life] ]It's not always easy to find the fun in life's frustrations. But as Deedee says, "Family that doesn't kill you makes you stronger." Among the favorite essays featured in this second book from the bestselling author of Driving on the Wrong Side of the Road are "Riding in Cars with Kids," "What's DNA Got to Do with It?", and "Why Women Won't Read Maps."

edit: tried to post title as a link but it didn't work...will have to try again on another book.

Josie says:
I was thinking that the book being discussed today might be a new cookbook for the ladies who were afraid that 50 Shades of Grey was going to replace the Bible at their church. Whose mother was that? I can't remember at the moment. Don't they seem like companion pieces?

Courtney says:
@ebook addict: Hopefully you find it at Target or Walmart. Did you see the shipping cost on that one?!?!

If not, see if you know someone in Utah or passing through. Pretty much every grocery store carries it there.

Off to get Wednesday's post started.

I sent an email to niece with a description of the book we've been discussing today. She sent back an email a few minutes ago. Said she laughed so hard she almost wet her pants.

Thank you for the start Joyful Judy. Let's see if you all left some of the slim pickings for me tonight:

Secrets - Madison Montgomery - Romance
Moondance - Karen M. Black - Romance
Unleashed (The Highland Historical Trillogy) - Kerrigan Byrne - Romance
Sheila Claydon Holiday Trilogy (Books We Love Special Edition) - Sheila Claydon - Contemporary Fiction
The Vanishing Cyclist - Chris Parker - Action/Adventure
Maggie's Quest For Love, The Sheridan Series One - Jean Avery Brown - Romance
Spinster - Catherine Jerome - Contemporary Fiction
Honest Love - F. P. Adriani - Contemporary Fiction
Winds of Change (Look to the Future) - Mary Metcalfe - Contemporary Fiction
Witch's Brew - Spellspinners 1 (Spellspinners of Melas County) - Heidi R. Kling - Romance

Yup, missing the picky gene. Maybe there's a cookbook I could add to the collection tonight...

Thanks Every Kiss Begins With Kay(K) & Elf Keeper. Put on wish list (not the Kindle one) so I can find it again in case I can't get locally. Will try Walmart & Target if the grocery doesn't have it.

Have finished all my baking except for peanut brittle & chex mix. (I make one I found years ago on the box that uses soy sauce instead of Worcestershire sauce. Like it better, but have not seen it on the box for years.) Last package arrived yesterday, 4 yet to wrap & I'm done except for cleaning the house. So not going to think about trying these cookies for a few weeks.
