@OregonDreamer - I watched two of the three seasons of that show. I enjoyed it but made the mistake of reading how it ends. Lost interests after that I guess. I often do that :(

Going Underground
Rob knows the trains still run. He can hear them, down there in the dark beneath the fading grandeur of London. But the London Underground is just a memory now, replaced by the Monorail that caters only to the very rich while the poor cower in its shadow. So where do the trains go? Who is riding on them? Rob wants to find out, but some mysteries aren't meant to be uncovered...

Going Underground, a 3000-word dystopian short story. Comes with the first part of the novel, The Tube Riders, as an exclusive sample.

It's about 53-54 with a preponderance of blue clouds. But it could always rain........Boots would not be out of place. An Umbrella just means you are a tourist. No real PNW person uses one - except for guests.

ETA And, OBTW, the weather forecasters around here are not known for their accuracy.

@Robb

They need to know to wear layers and waterproof on top. If they show up in a coat they might roast. We never know if it will be 65 and sunny or 45 and wet. Could have no wind or gale force winds. LOL

Edit to remove extra me. :)

Disclaimer: I do not read Playboy or Playgirl. This was on FB and thought it might be appropriate. For many reasons. November has a lot of ghosts for me.

Playboy talked to an out-of-character Stephen Colbert about many things, including losing his father and brothers. We think we might have something in our eyes.

The Wolf at the Door

By Nicole Cliffe | November 14, 2012

PLAYBOY: It's been almost four decades since it happened. Does the grief dissipate?

COLBERT: No. It's not as keen. Well, it's not as present, how about that? It's just as keen but not as present. But it will always accept the invitation. Grief will always accept the invitation to appear. It's got plenty of time for you.

PLAYBOY: "I'll be here."

COLBERT: That's right. "I'll be here when you need me." The interesting thing about grief, I think, is that it is its own size. It is not the size of you. It is its own size. And grief comes to you. You know what I mean? I've always liked that phrase He was visited by grief, because that's really what it is. Grief is its own thing. It's not like it's in me and I'm going to deal with it. It's a thing, and you have to be okay with its presence. If you try to ignore it, it will be like a wolf at your door.
