Finally I was able to submit an order from Denmark - via the international store where the price and shipping are somewhat higher than in the "ordinary" store. Ordered it Monday evening before the Easter - and received it Wednesday before lunch; surprisingly quick delivery in just 1,5 day despite it was shipped from US! The price is estimated above 1.200 DKK ($200+) so I hope that it will fullfil the intented purpose of making e-reading into a pleasure.

Hi,
I can tell you the costs to Hungary:

Taxes : 37,98 USD
Shipping: 28 USD
Fuel surcharge: 3,92 USD
Total shipping: 69,9 USD
And the package is over to Europe in 3 days.

Hi,

I live in Hungary and will receive my Paperwhite next week. What I did is registered with Borderlinx. You receive a US address to use when ordering from Amazon. They send then the goods to Borderlinx in the US and Borderlinx forwards the Kindle to you. And, it is a bit cheaper for me as I would get it from Amazon directly. Give a try!

You just have to wait your turn. The bigger markets get the new toys first. This happens with all new releases.

possibly because they don't even have enough now to keep it in stock for US residents (limit of 2 and not shipping until December 21st for an order placed today) - it was the same with the Basic Kindles and the Kindle Touch (France got that one 2-3 weeks after international customers did and I was anxiously waiting for mine) - they were released internationally 4-5 months after the US release

and the UK just moved their shipping dates for ordering today forward to Dec 14th

It doesn't help me right now when I'm sitting in Copenhagen.
I don't understand why Amazon puts restrictions on which country they will send Kindle Paperwhite to.
I'm allowed to buy an older model of The Kindle.

right now?

just by going to Germany, Italy, the UK, Spain, the US, or France

or

by having a friend in one of those countries get one for you (they're shipping in the UK at the earliest on Dec 17th and in France on Feb 4th)
