Thank you everyone for helping me out. I think I have found the one that I'm going to use for now. Another question if you don't mind. Since using the Kindle Fire I hope someone knows. Is there any way to change the wallpaper on the home screen. I was going to change it so she would see here grandchildren when turning it on and I can't find an option. Is there any way?

Here is what I suggest. For an app download Bible, it is the best out there. Then I would also buy this Bible Encyclopedia (ISBE). The great thing about this book is that it can be set as the default dictionary for your books and can also be used to read through as well. Then I would suggest downloading her favorite version of the Bible through the Kindle store to use along with this.

I highly recommend the ESV Bibles from Crossway. This free version includes cross-references, footnotes and a concordance: The Holy Bible, English Standard Version (with Cross-References) . They also have a study bible which is reasonably priced and is absolutely wonderful: ESV Study Bible

I don't use an app but my wife does and she loves Biblia: Biblia! . She uses their Spanish language version but they also offer the ESV (in English).

Another great app is this one: Bible . I don't use it but know people who do. It looks great and has glowing reviews from users.

Try the Touch Bible (KJV + Strong's). You can find the definition, the root word and the Hebrew meaning. This version was .99 but there are several other versions ranging from free to 4.99. I hope this helps.

ETA This version also allows the reader to adjust the font size and change the background from day mode (white with black letters) to night mode (black background with white lettering)

I don't know of any Bible app that has the ability to look up words, but I really like YouVersion for the variety of translations they offer that can be read offline and offers audio:

You may also want to search the App Store--many of the apps have a test drive feature you can use on your computer to try them out.

I would like to find a bible app for my mom since I bought her a kindle fire for Christmas. I'm setting it up and most apps don't have word look up by selecting that word. I would also like for it to have audio book option. Doesn't matter if it's free or paid app, please help.
