Chew,

Thank you. At least one Help Pro did not act childishly in this thread.

Collections and cloud are completely independent of each other. The paperwhite has both. So does the k3 (and the k2,and the k-basic, and the k-touch), although it calls the cloud "archived items" instead of "cloud".

I honestly don't know what interface you are referring to, though, so I have no idea whether this answers your question or not. And given how you replied to John, I'm not really sure I'm going to put any more effort into it.

@Jimmy: What on earth are you going on about? You asked: "On the paperwhite, is the interface more like the Kindle3 or the Fire when it comes to BOOKS?"

I asked: "What interface - when you are reading or when you are looking at the Home screen? Reading = similar to all other Kindles. Home screen - like a bit of both, depending on whether you choose Cover View or List View."

There several interfaces on a Kindle of any type. You did NOT mention the interface with respect to collections in your post. I shall not make the mistake of trying to read your mind again.

BTW, if you have read these forums, you'd know that the Paperwhite has the collections feature but the Fire does not. The Paperwhite also has a tab called "Cloud" just like the Fire.

I have the KK, Touch, PW, Fire, and Fire HD and I'm not sure what you are asking. Perhaps if you had described what you meant better.

The screen is an e-ink screen, but unlike earlier Kindles, you have the option to see covers in that gray-scale e-ink style. However, instead of archives, the PW calls it the Cloud. Like earlier e-inks, it has collections if you want to use them.

I have a Kindle 3 and a Kindle Fire and a Kindle Paperwhite. The Paperwhite is more like the Kindle 3 than the Kindle Fire by far. You can have collections on the Paperwhite. The truth is the PW isn't really quite like a K3 or a Kindle Fire.

I was hesitant to answer you because you were pretty rude to John when he did his best to help answer your somewhat vague question. I decided to go ahead and answer you even though your question really isn't as clear as you seem to think it is. There's no way anyone can be quite sure what you're asking and I might not have answered it completely either. I think maybe I did but if not, I'm sure you'll find some way to let me know.

Insulting people who are trying to help you might not be the best strategy for getting help in forums.

Is it like a Kindle 3 (kb) or a fire? That's a simple question - if you've seen both!

Dang John, can you have a collection of even a gen 1 fire? You even know what that means? Seems you are a "pro" at nothing!

@Mary: You have hijacked someone else's thread. Please start your own in future, as your question is different.
