When did you buy the K4? If it has been 30 days or less you can return it.

To me, trying to sell or trade-in a used K4 isn't really worth the effort, since the street price is only $45 or so and Amazon will give even less as a trade-in credit.

Keeping it as a back-up gives you the additional benefit of being able to loan your ebooks to friends and family without being restricted by the very limited lending rights granted by Amazon, since you can lend the Kindle itself along with any or all the ebooks you own.

If lending and having a back-up device aren't important to you, you may want to consider giving your old Kindle to a friend or family member. It makes a wonderful gift. I've done this several times and it's always been greatly appreciated.

But you're better off selling it yourself or keeping it as a backup device.

Hi Cristian,

It is possible to trade in your Kindle, but it really isn't worth it because you would get so little for it. (Type "Kindle trade in" in the search box on the top of this screen.) It would be better to try to sell it yourself and put the money you earn towards the new Paperwhite.
