I'm well aware of the various email protocols,
and thanks for the Amazon Help link...
but not sure exactly what aspects of the Exchange Server protocol has been implemented within the Kindle HDX software email app - hence the question....

There are: protocol layers, ports, authentication, authorization, encryption, configuration, push, sync, there's lots going on behind the scenes,
and lots of "checkboxes" in normal Microsoft Outlook to make it all work - or not -

FWIW "Exchange" is one of the three types of email services (the other two being POP and IMAP) that you can select when setting up email service on the HDX. I haven't actually used it because my company does not let us connect personal devices at all.

just wondering how things are currently supported -
with respect to Exchange Server and say the Fire HDX 8.9 ?

Most of the Microsoft Exchange Servers I use have the "anywhere" option implemented, and now allow users to connect from outside the firewall to the Exchange Server.

Don't know how complete the Kindle Fire implementation is,
so... was asking if the Fire HDX was actually capable of Exchange Server email support ?

[actually, another user from NY Teachers posted the question]

I have and I access the server form several different devices.
Good advice.

yep, I asked where I work and no one can connect with any unapproved (read: company provided) devices even the big boss

If your work place is like many others they don't allow outside devices to connect to their network...period. So check with your office IT person first.

I have a FIRE (original) and apparently cannot connect to the Exchanger Server 2010 at work. What, if any, models will?
