Depends on your Kindle model, actually.

Thank you, this seems the only way to completely clear the personal dictionary!!

Just one correction: it's not "All applications" but "Installed applications"

I've been able to delete most misspelled words that way. However, some words are not deleting when I follow those directions. They stay in my dictionary and always pop up as a suggested word. Is there a way to reset my whole dictionary to default?

Wow, I've been searching for an answer for months and just came across what I discovered. Nobody knew how to remove 1 item or even clear it all. Thanks I would have preferred to remove 1 item if I had known how to do that.

"Clear Data" is kind of overkill. It's possible to just remove the one or two entries that you want to delete rather than purging ALL of your personal data.

The menu path has changed a little in recent OS updates (actually a lot!):

Settings > Language & Keyboard > Keyboard > Keyboard Settings > Personal Dictionary

From there you can tag the items to delete and then tap delete. Very simple and much more surgical than nuking all of your personal data.

I had the same problem and just tonight discovered how my misspelled email address was able to be erased.
Go to Settings then Applications, select All Applications and scroll to My Account and press the Clear Data button.
That should dump all the saved words.

ANSWER:

Go to Settings > Keyboard > Personal Dictionary.

This displays a list of remembered words on this device. From there, you can select and delete any words you want.

Jackpot.

Could be no one knows how. I suggest you contact Kindle Customer Service. Click Help at the top of this page. Then click Contact Us on the right and follow the instructions.

So it can't be done?

Is there a way I can remove a word from my Fire HD's autocorrect dictionary? I misspelled a word and accidentally saved it to the dictionary. Now that misspelling is an "acceptable" word and is even a suggested word.

If I can't delete a single word, is there a way to reset the custom dictionary back to the defaults (without resetting the whole device)?
