It will be bumped as long as there are people who read without comprehending what they read.
Or until Amazon kills the forums.
Or when the Sun goes supernova.

I think 2 and 3 are more likely.

It will be bumped up for as many years as people whine, "It's not faiiiiiiiir!" that Amazon only allows borrowing of KOLL books on actual Kindles or Fires.

In other words, for as long as this forum exists, probably.

LOL, I have yet to take advantage of this great free offer. Prime for me is free 2 day shipping. I have streamed a couple movies tho.

Wonder how many years this thread will be bumped up?

". . . but don't enjoy reading it on the kindle itself." Sounds like you're saying you don't enjoy reading on your kindle and Amazon should let you read the one a month book on another device as long as you have a kindle registered to your account. Are you suggesting spending $100 or more for a kindle for the sole purpose of being able to borrow once a month a book that usually only costs $2.00-$5.00 anyway?

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 2, 2015 6:33:26 PM PDT
Why would people care about one eBook a month when they can choose between a hundred (or more) eBooks that are offered in Amazon's daily free eBooks? And you own those.

I use ereaderiq.com to find the daily free eBooks and there have been many times that there are several that are in the KOLL and/or in Kindle Unlimited.

And this is not a way to make suggestions to Amazon - they don't read this forum.

Then those lots of people are doomed to disappointment.

You can think about how you want to read a KOLL book on your iPad all you want, Sally, but it is not likely to happen. Since Amazon doesn't read the threads on this forum, you need to email your suggestion to them.

If you have a kindle registered then Amazon should allow you to transfer the book to your kindle iPad app or any where else you prefer to read it.

Companies are allowed to make any rules for programs that they want - it their program.

I can't imagine Apple doing what you think Amazon should.

I know right! Amazon keeps adding amazing new features that we didn't even ask for and don't charge any extra! SO worth it!

but i prefer an actual book to staring at a screen

I love my PaperWhite - I can adjust the font size, so that I can actually read it - I can't read paper books anymore, because of vision problems.

As for your comment about libraries, you are correct, they have paper books as well as eBooks now. So they can accommodate people who like either or both of them.

They also have daily free eBooks on Amazon, which is also really nice. And makes it harder for me to understand why people are upset about having only 1 eBook a month to borrow and the issue about the KOLL not being for Kindle apps, but Kindle devices only.

Oh, I think it means on its app.

And honestly? It's ONE BOOK a month from a pretty limited (imo) selection. 12 *crappy* books makes you very very very very very very (Gawd how many verys were there? Jane! Get me of this crazy thing!) ? Reeeeeally?

In reply to an earlier post on May 13, 2014 3:44:08 PM PDT
I still get to borrow a book a month. Did they let you know why you couldn't?

Did you bother to read any information BEFORE signing up for Prime?

In reply to an earlier post on May 13, 2014 3:38:47 PM PDT
The KOLL is designed to do two things, and two things, only.

1) Encourage Kindle owners to join Prime;
2) Encourage Prime members to buy Kindles.

Full stop.

This is all Very, Very, Very, Very, VERY disappointing. Talk about proprietary! Not only did the cost of Prime go up $20/yr but they also continue to limit what you actually get for it.
No free borrowing of books once a month!? Not to mention there are very few decent movies/shows available for free on Amazon. The more I search the more disappointed I become with the entire thing. I've decided to get my money back by two day ordering as many cheap things as possible...... :-( Never Again.

Sara, you may purchase as many "free" kindle books as you wish and read them on any device/app. If you are referring to the Kindle Owners Lending Library (limited to a LOAN of one book only per month), you are limited to borrowing/reading on a Kindle.
