You can set her up her own account but use your information on it. In other words make her an account but do not turn on one click buying and do not give her the password to either the account or the wifi.

I know too many 10 year olds that connect to the internet when they should be in bed.

This is from the link Nospin posted- For the e-ink Kindles, (Basic Kindle, Keyboard Kindle and Paperwhite) parents can restrict access to the Experimental Web Browser, the Kindle Store, and Archived Items. While the Kindle Store and Archived Items are locked with Parental Controls, you can continue to buy books from a computer and send them to the Kindle wirelessly for a child to read.

Thanks to Pineapple

You do send the books to a specific kindle. That is not where the problem is. What you need to do is block access to your archives so that she does not download them herself. And I think the parental controls might do that on some kindles but I am not positive which is why I suggested posting in the help forum.

Thanks for the replies, not really what i was hoping for, as my child is only 10 she wont have access to buying books on kindle, i would be doing all that for her, but i was hoping i could somehow make sure my own books did not download onto her kindle when turning wi-fi on to download books for her.
Don't really want her getting my JR Ward books as well.!
Was hoping i could set it up so i chose what books went to which kindle, i will give Amazon a ring and see what my options are.

See my answer above. There are parental controls that may do what you want (block archives). Ask in the help forum and tell them which kindle you are talking about. Or you can set up a different account but still pay for it yourself.

This is an old thread about a different topic. If the last two posters want answers if would be best to start a new thread with a title that is more accurate to your problem.

I have 3 kindles. My kids are all playing Contract Killer 2 and are on different levels. For some reason their games keep crossing over to each others games and they are losing the levels they might have been on. Is there any way to keep the games separate and from crossing over so each can continue playing at what ever level they were on?

I saw a message a month or two ago that parental controls were now available for the apps, although I'm not sure if that included the Apple apps. You might try searching for "parental controls" to see the messages about it.

I have the opposite problem!! I have the Kindle app on all our IPads. Is there a way my 8 year old WON'T have access to all my books. I don't want her reading 50 Shades!! Or do I need to set up a separate account for her??

You don't transfer books from the old Kindle to the new one; each book you dl from Amazon is coded for a specific Kindle and won't work on any other Kindle. But once you register the new Kindle to your account, you will be able to download any of the ebooks in your account to the new Kindle.

Register the new one to the same account. The books on the account will be available to download to the new one. You can de-register the old one from the Manage Your Kindle page. It will have no effect on what you put on the new one.

This post was very useful, but not complete enough for my problem. My kindle "died" so I purchased a new kindle fire. How do I transfer all the info from my old one to my new one. Even new purchases went to my old kindle.

They can absolutely go on the same account. I have two Kindles and five apps on my account, and they all have access to all the books I have collected. Very nice!

I'm not sure what you mean by "share the Prime membership." If you mean the KOLL, you can borrow ONE book per calendar month regardless of how many Kindles you have. But if you borrow a book on one Kindle, the other actual Kindles on your account can also be used to read the same book. (Not the apps, though.) If this wasn't what you were asking, please try again. ;)

ETA: my son is about to deploy to the Middle East and I'm planning on buying him a Kindle and putting it on my account so he and his buddies can read any of my over 1000 books - from what I hear, Kindles are extremely popular around deployed military!
