hi emenem. does your kindle fire have just one micro port? or two. if just one (normally used for charging), i believe you need a slimport cable to connect to a tv hdmi port. others can correct me if i am wrong ... william

YES... The Micro USB spec allows for powered devices via the micro usb port, so you just plug in an micro USB OTG to USB female adapter, there are thousands on the market. and you can plug in a normal USB MOUSE! to your 4th Generation Kindle Fire HD 7.. yes I tried it.. it works! There are also adapters on the market that allow you charge your device and have a mouse running at the SAME time!

I received the firestick. Works great. However, the micro/Android port is for power input only. I don't see anyway the firestick can be used on any device that does not have HDMI capability? Hope I am wrong; can someone please tell me how to connect the firestick to a device without an HDMI port? Is there available a converter cable from HDMI to USB or micro?

The small port is for a HDMI lead which can link your kindle to the TV and allow you to watch videos etc downloaded onto your kindle. You can purchase the cable from Amazon for about £3.
Hope this helps?

My kindle has two(2) ports. One is for charging which is larger and then there is a small one. Need to know what the small port can do and what connector cord is used. If I can use this small port to plug in to my laptop,tv or my projection to watch programs.

no, your Magic Jack plugs into a router. Amazon Fire TV is not a router, it's a streaming device.

Intimidate? What I see there is someone pointing out the fact that a one star review for a feature that was never promised is bogus and you resorting to the shill gambit when you don't like what he says.

Another reason to buy a true android product like the nexus 7. No need to root. I just connect my little 64G jump drive to the OTG dongle, (99 cents on Amazon) and have access to my 50 movies using an app from Google Play.

Get with the program Amazon!

Then why would I bother with it?

Just another fancy piece of crap toy that doesn't actually work in the real world.

Millions and millions of suckers making the people who sell this crap rich.

No thanks!

I want to run an iPad off my kindle 's hdmi output so I can have dual screens. If I connect a magic eight ball to the kindle, and connect that to a toaster, then run a 220v line straight to the iPad, can my barber cut my hair next Wednesday?
