My problems are with the Kindle Fire. Biggest complaints are the Google search bar issue, trying to post comments on fb issue and the un-user friendly copy & paste function.

Could someone tell me if these problems are just with the Kindle Fire or are there problems with the e-readers with a touch pad? I was thinking of upgrading to a touch pad rather than the keyboard since it is so small and difficult to use. But, it the typing screen is a problem, I will stick with the keyboard.

Prior to purchasing my Kindle I bought a Pandigital color touch pad tablet and I did not like it at all. That was the problem I had with the touch pad, the screen would scroll up before I could type. So, I returned it to QVC and bought my Kindle 2nd Generaltion wifi-3G with keyboard and it is small and difficult to see, but do not have any other problems. But, I have found it easier to use my netbook when I need to go online even to shop at the Kindle store, it is just more difficult to see and and shop. But, as for reading, my Kindle has been a the perfect e-reader. I do not have this problem with my Apple Ipad touch pad so if all Kindle touch pads are this sensitive, I may need to stay with the keypad? Any suggestions on this problem with touch pad typing?

Obviously this is an inherent issue with Kindles so why haven't they addressed it yet? Or did they in the form of the HD...?

I had the same problem. And I found a solution. Press the four arrow Icon in the bottom right hand corner to expand the browser when you open google. Now the keyboard wont disappear after typing one letter.

Firstly, this only happens for me on these Amazon forum posts. Here is the solution that works for me:

While typing, at the start, I hit the return 3 times and type a period (full stop). Then I go back and type my post. Then in the future, if I need to edit that post or if I correct it while typing, that last line is a period and so my real last line of text is always visible.

It only does it some of the time, it only does it with FB, and it *didn't* use to happen. The only thing I've found that works is to close that tab and open a new one (not the same one from history). That seems to work for me.

I'm having the same problem as Carol, Nancy and others. My screen scrolls up and down with every keystroke. And sometimes when I type nothing show up on the screen. I have to tap over and over to make it work. I like the Fire but this is so annoying that I'm considering returning it. Going to call CS tomorrow.

It happens to me at work (sshh!) so I know that there's nothing d/l in the background. I thought at one time that it was associated with using an external keyboard hooked up to the laptop, but later discovered that the same problem occurred when using the laptop's own keyboard, so that isn't it...

I'll have to try opening a new tab and see if that makes any difference.

me too-- all of the above. happens to me on every site not just fb. the solution is to keep your posts short and know exactly what you want to say before you type. (seriously-- try it!)

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 10, 2012 6:38:32 AM PDT
I've noticed that, too, but it doesn't happen every time. I've had some success closing that tab and opening a new one from the bookmark menu (not the pictorial screen caps). I'm also experimenting with whether it's connected to happening during something else downloading in the background.

Very weird. And annoying.

Same here... This happens most every time I try to enter a long post on the Fire. My solution is to select/copy and then paste into a document-writing app to finish up the post. When done, copy/paste from the app into the posting box on Ammy. But no question about it - it's annoying! I agree that there should be a more sensitive scroll method.

And sometimes when I'm posting on my laptop, I get the same problem as Carol Ewoldt mentioned - every time I hit a letter, the post jumps to the top (though the typing is in the correct place). That only happens on my laptop - my desktop is fine (BTW, it's happening right now!). I've found that it usually helps to post, then go back and edit to finish up. This has been going on for months, and others have commented on it as well. The issue with the Fire seems to be a bit more recent, but it's still been going on for a while, too. I use both Vista and Win 7 with IE7 & 8. My desktop is XP and IE 9 (and it's fine with that combo). No idea if the browser makes any difference or not, though.

My Fire is also jumping when I am typing on Facebook. Drives me crazy! But was hoping someone would have a solution.

By the way, I've found the way to combat the OP's problem is to go ahead and click <return> several times before entering my text. Then touch back up at the top to start typing. That way, the "last line" of the text is further down, and you can GET to the actual last TYPED line, easily. Just my 2 cents.

If we all click "Feedback" and mention it to Amazon, if there's other people out there with the same problem, eventually, someone will have an answer.

IT'S NOT JUST ME! Okay, I thought my Fire had some weird glitch! I have cleared the cookies, the cache, and the history. Done a reboot, and it still does this ...but NOT every time. Weird.

I *was* downloading a handful of tv episodes from DroidTV; I'm wondering if some app running in the background is causing the jumping.

I am having the same problem as Carol J. Ewoldt...the screen jumps with each keystroke. I too, would like some suggestions on how to fix this.

Kindle Fire, Full Color 7" Multi-touch Display, Wi-Fi

I have started having a strange problem with my Kindle Fire. When typing comments on FB, the screen "jumps" to the top of the display with every keystroke! Which means that the display is hopping back and forth between the comment box and the top with every touch! Drives me crazy and I can't follow what I am typing. Suggestions?
