Apple has agreements and licenses in different countries to sell apps and other content. Amazon may not have the same licenses and agreements in those countries.

This answer convince me but partially. I have bought the same apps for my Ipad and downloaded. Why the law is so? Is it not the same law?

carlosjuanl - You will not be able to purchase any apps (even free ones) from Amazon. Amazon does not currently offer the Fire for sale in the Dominican Republic, because it cannot legally sell you content there. The Kindle Fire is currently only available (from Amazon) to users in the US, UK, France, Italy, Germany, Spain and Japan.

You might be able to purchase books from Amazon, but you will not be able to purchase apps, games, music or video. this is due to international copyright laws and licenses for this digital content.

Mike says:
The product page is pretty specific on these limitations. If you want more info on this, you probably should ask Amazon direct.
