Just got my new Kindle Fire and love it but after it has charging or been off for a while when I turn it on the images look like negative pictures and the type face is white on black background instead of other normal way. If I turn it off and then back on it corrects the problem but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this happen or if I got a bad one and should exchange it just in case this is an indicator that something else might go wrong. Other than this, I love it!

If you have this with a book it sounds like you've accidentally changed the way you view it. On the open book tap the menu key and then chose 'fonts'. It will show several choices as to print size and how the page appears...the choices are white page/black print, black page/white print (which is what you describe), and sepia page/brown print. For some books you can change the font style as well. I chose the black page/white print for the book I'm reading but haven't noticed it carrying over to other thing... Hope this helps. I love my fire too!

Thanks Mary Ellen but I'm afraid that isn't the problem. I have it set to the sepia/brown but when I turn it on even the first page where you swipe to unlock it is affected and looks like a negative picture. I think something is definitely not right with mine. But it is weird that if I turn it off and then back on it corrects it...

Is anyone having this problem? I liked my kindle when I got it, but 5 days ago I turned it on and all the pages I searched since christmas, the day i got it, loaded. i went in to clear the history and the pages went away, then later on i clicked on WEB to search and they all loaded again. I went through the process of clearing cookies, caches and history and i tried it again and again, all the pages loaded, like I never deleted them. It was unreal. I deleted them again. I shut it off. at this point i was frustrated and thought maybe i'd return it. This morning I turned it on and sure enough, all the pages loaded on again. IT SUCKS! I called support and they made me do a factory reboot, I lost the few apps I had but it's allegedly going to be brand new. I have yet to try it again because I'm really not too interested in it anymore. I don't want to specn 200 bucks on something that doesn't work. When I try it and Ill report back. More importantly though, has this happened to anyone else?

This has happened to me. The exact same story as yours. This has been happening for the past two or three weeks worth of history; they just keep popping back up! Amazon support has yet to help me with this problem!!!

My kindle fire will sometimes shut off for days and I cant get the screen to turn sideways or anything. I can hardly connect to Wifi and cant connect to the app store. Half of my app I cant even use and the other half I cant find. I wouldn't recommend getting the kindlefire and having to go through all the time and frustration I went through.

I ended up calling Amazon and telling them about my problems and they sent a new one with return shipping paid on the old one in 1 day. This one seems fine so far. You should call them!

I would have already talked w/ Kindle Customer Service. Why would you put it off until you are frustrated?

In reply to luv2shop. Same with me! But I didn't know it would shut off. I'm just hoping I overused it today.

Thank goodness. I thought it was just me! Besides, pppf tags his/her gibberish onto a year (almost) old thread.
