At some point a few weeks back the "By Most Recent First" option on my Kindle stopped working. I can't figure out exactly how it is now ordering the books but it is more or less "Least Recent and Unopened First".

So, when I open a book, it thereafter appears in the bottom third of my library, which involves more hunting around for it than is entirely necessary. Any clues?

Sounds like the sorting got changed to something else. I don't know which Kindle you have but at the top of screen of the home page change the sort option to Most Recent First or Collections.

Sounds like you may have accidently changed it to Title or Author.

Nop. Definitely have it set to Most Recent First (and it sort of has a stab at it in a backwards way). There's no probalem with the ordering by Title or Author.

I would try a reboot then if that doesn't fix it call Kindle Customer Service.

S. Gear, this is a fairly common issue. The Kindle occasionally forgets the date and time. I turn Wireless on and do a restart, That has always solved the problem for me.

Mine will do this if I reset it when I am not connected to Wi-Fi. When I reset it while connected it starts to work properly again. the books that went to the end will stay there until you delete them or open them again after resetting while connected

As others suggested, the clock on your device might be off. If your Kindle is 3G capable, connecting and syncing will set it; otherwise, you can do that manually - the procedure varies by the model.

I've been trying to figure out what happened and how to fix the sorting on my kindle for weeks. It worked, thank you!
