I'm a teacher with 6 Kindles for my Senior English Extension students plus my own. I have bought a couple of textbooks which I've shared with 5 student Kindles & my own and hit the licence limit. I want to take the books off my Kindle, so the 6th licence can go to my student. I tried "Remove from Device", but it put it in the Archive of mine and is still not available to the student Kindle. Any suggestions greatly appreciated - school budgets are too tight to keep buying extra copies!

CBRetriever says:
remove from device, then sync and it should send a "release notice" to amazon so you could put it on another kindle

Bixillarla says:
After you remove from device turn on the Wireless and connect to the Amazon server so it can sync, that will free up the license.

and that will remove it from the other kindles that you already put it on which means you'd have to buy it again - I wouldn't recommend this if you're trying to not spend too much of the school board budget

Do NOT do what Sharon J has suggested, that will remove the book from the account and none of your students will be able to have access to it.

That was why I mentioned the HOWEVER ... it permanently removes it from your library

Thanks CBRetriever and James Bernard - it was the sync step I missed and having done this the textbooks loaded straight away from the archive list on the student Kindle. Really appreciate your help! Cheers, Rob
