How is browsing the web on the kindle fire? Does it compare to an iPad? Im not here to compare the iPad to the kindle fire. I just want a tablet that i can browse the internet in bed and maybe so some other things. I normally browse online on my iPhone but its a little small and I can't justify the high price tag of the iPad.

Is the web browser decent?

" Does it compare to an iPad? "

"Im not here to compare the iPad to the kindle fire."

Um... do you realize that those two statements are just a tiny bit contradictory?

"Is the web browser decent?"

The Fire is an excellent portable web browsing device. I used it for an entire week vacation to access the web and never felt like I was missing my full sized laptop. Granted, I wasn't using it a lot that week, but it was great for basic browsing.

You also have 30 days to try it out. If you don't like it send it back for a refund. Nothing to lose. Just make sure it has all the features you want. Don't assume it just has things. Check it out first.

I just didn't want to get into a long discussion about iPad vs fire. I only browsed on a tablet with an iPad...so i don't know how any other tablet is online.

It should be a cross between your iphone and ipad. The Fire is in between in size.

The KF will satisfy your needs. The web browser works fine. I. like you, have an ipod touch and wanted something with a bigger screen. I love the KF for web browsing. If you don't like the built in web browser (Silk) you can d/l the free Maxthon web browser from the Amazon App Store and try it. As Jeff said above you can try it and see if you like it.
