Mike White says:
My wife just purchased a Kindle Fire and we have two questions, hopefully not repeats of others already asked...

First, can you use collections on the Fire? Neither one of us has been able to figure out how to set them up if you can...

Second, when removing books from the Kindle Fire it seems that you have to remove them from both the Carrousel and from 'books'. Is this in fact correct?

Many thanks for any responses, we are a little confused at this point.

❤ Ann says:
No, collections are not supported on the Fire.

Yes, if you don't want to see a book, you'll need to remove it from both the carousel and the device.

Rogue says:
When you delete a book from your Fire it will show up in your carousel unless removed from there as well. Even after deleting a book from your Fire, it will still show up in your library under the "cloud" tab, meaning the book has been removed from the device and is being stored in your "cloud" storage. Help! I have deleted a book from the carousel, from the books, from the device and from my library via manage my kindle. The dratted thing still shows up on the carousel, even after I synch'd and shut down and restarted! I don't know what else I can do!

Maybe a residual shows up on the carousel.
Have you deleted from the carousel again at the end? (sync first and make sure your wifi is functioning)

I'll try that, Nospin. Thanks for the suggestion. Can't wait for an update to fix the carousel.

When I purchase an ebook on my kindle fire, how do I transfer it to my wive's kindle fire?

Carbonbased says:
Your wife can access any Amazon books on the account by touching Books, Cloud, Search box and typing in any part of the title or author.

I am assuming both Fires are on the same account.

I don't have two Fires, but any books I buy and send to K4PC show up on the Fire's carousel next time I come within wifi range.

I have just purchased a Kindle Fire - I live in Canada - apparently the device thinks I am in the US because everything I try to do, it tells me that my credit card does not have a US address. How do I change my Kindle to Amazon.ca instead of .com

when is the new 9.6 kindle fire due to come out? or is that just speculation?

In reply to an earlier post on May 10, 2012 3:21:33 PM PDT
~nospin says:
The Fire is only sold in the US due to licensing restrictions on a lot of the media, like movies, apps, and games. Restrictions vary by locale and the US based credit card is how Amz determines whether the laws in your locale allow them to send you the media.

I have downloaded a large research tool onto my Fire from the disk, but I can't find it when I open the Kindle. When its attached to my PC and I go to Explore, the software is there. Can you help me?

Wayne says:
Possibly the file format is not supported on the Fire.

I downloaded the version for a mobile device. Do you think that should work on the Kindle? I appreciate your response Wayne.

You can remove books from the carousel without removing them from the books section. Go to the carousel and press and hold on the book and it will give you the option to delete from carousel as well as from the device.

can i use a usb cable to attach to pc at work without hurting kindle fire?

In reply to an earlier post on Jun 5, 2012 6:38:24 PM PDT
@stella: Yes, but you can use that connection only for charging the Fire and/or transferring files to and from the Fire.

I cannot get my Netflix to work on my Kindle no matter what I do. It says I have to load a Microsof Silverlight program to make it work but I can't even get that to load. So far I am very disappointed with my Kindle as compared to an ipad. Other than reading books, which was available to me on my cheaper Kindle, I bought the Fire so I could access films on Netflix. So far I'm very confused. Nothing works. I can watch Amazon movies, but not Netflix, and would like to be able to use both. Please help. I keep getting a message that I need certain power bytes like it will not work on my Fire. Please make it work!

You need to download the Netflix app and play movies through the app
Netflix

This doesn't work. It just doesn't download. When I go back to Netflix home, I pick another movie and it takes me to the screen that tells me about Complete System Requirements as though I don't have the equipment or downloads to watch a movie, which I do, unless I need the Silverlight, which won't download. I am so angry about this.

Laura, you need to stay in the app to use Netflix, is that what you are doing? What happens?
