I have a tablet and I have a phone, both with the kindle reading app. Lately I've had some sync issues, so I went and looked at my devices on amazon, and it lists four ofthem. I'm thinking I should deregister them all, and then reregister my two and then hope for the best? Any thoughts on that?

Extra ones are probably remnants of previous re-installs. I would suggest to dentify real ones by their names and deregister others.

Unfortunately, I wasn't very clever with my names (though to be fair, I didn't expect it to up and ask me to give a new name for my device out of the blue), so I have this to work with:

* Matthew's Android Tablet
* Matthew's Vortex
* Matthew's 2nd Android Tablet
* Matthew's 2nd Android

Matthew, I have noticed that a couple times when I updated my Kindle app on one of my Android devices it adds the update as Sara's 2nd Android etc. I have a Nook Tablet, ViewPad, Samsung Galaxy Media Player 5, and a Toshiba Thrive registered to our account...and at one time it had 10 or so Sara's # Android. I just deleted them all and started over. The Kindle for Mac or PC or iPhone, iPod, and iPad apps don't do that, just the Android apps.

I think it happens when the phone is updated. I used to have a couple Droids on my account and they did the same thing.

I'm my sure if it's app update or OS updates that do it. But the second (X's 2nd Android) is probably the one you want to keep. It always was with mine.

Matthew, those names should be visible somewhere in the application itself - perhaps in settings (K4PC shows the name in title bar - I don't have my Android handy to check). I am recommending this because I am not sure will your application keep its content when de-registered, or will you have to download it again; otherwise, de-registering everything and re-registering from the app, as you plan and saraf did, is the simplest way to go.

Bridget has a good suggestion- try initially keeping "seconds".

Bridget Ruth is probably right.

To check, you could use the MYK page to send a book to what you think is the latest entry for your phone and see if it shows up on your phone. After it's appeared, repeat for your tablet.

Then click on Manage your Devices on the MYK page. Deregister the extras, and rename the good ones to something identifiable.
