Kindle for Android app problem

My android phone recently had the OS updated to the most recent version. Since then I cannot get my Kindle app to work. I've deregistered the app and reregistered it, but still cannot get it to work. Any suggestions on what to try next?

Pertinent Information I missed:

The phone is an HTC Thunderbolt.
I have 3000+ books on my account, but I have most of them archived.

You might try deleting the app and then reinstalling it... I had to do that with the Kindle PC program on my laptop after a update..

Maybe the version of Android is no longer compatible with the Kindle app. The Kindle for Android help info says that it is compatible with Android 3.8.

I have the Nexus 7 and it is running Android 4.2.2 and the Kindle app is 3.8.2.4. I have no problems at all with it.

I'd like to do that, but the phone won't let me since which I try to do so I get a message that the app is built in. Which leads me to the question why it would be built in.

And I think I see the problem. I have Android 4.0 and a Kindle app of 3.5.1. I wonder what would happen if I sent an upgrade to the Kindle app to the phone.

Cell Phone makers and tablet makers make deals with certain companies to include thier app into the phone/tablet and make them so they cannot be removed.

Nothing bad will happen updating the app, it will just update it to the new version. Goto the app store and update the Kindle app and see if that works for you.
