it should be in your personal docs file.

I had an issue like this earlier today ( just got my Fire last night). I hooked the Fire up to my PC via USB cable. On my PC I went to my Computer and clicked on my Kindle Fire. My file was there but it wasn't in any folder so I had to move it into the book folder.

Now...I'm not really savvy electronically speaking. There must be a way..once it's downloaded on the Fire to move it from there to my library...right??

I don't have a fire but i don't think there is. From what i can tell amazon puts them there as they are loaded the first time.

Holly,

Pick up this free app for the Fire-> ES File Explorer

Install and open it on your Fire, then pick to view the 'downloads' folder.
Then select the file you downloaded and select 'copy', and then go to the documents folder and paste it.
[There is no 'move' function, but after verifying that it worked you can go to the downloads folder and delete it]

Edited to add-> I'm pretty sure you need to shutdown the Fire and then restart it before the file gets recognized in its new location. You can also go to the APPLICATIONS area and force close one of the running Kindle apps to get it to appear. It's a bit of a pain.

Thanks - exactly what I needed, took me 30 seconds once DL'd! Important to remind ppl to move the doc file AND the index file. I did have to reboot to get them to show up in the Docs listing.
