I download free apps from the Android App store. My Kindle doesn't show them in my cloud storage. I see them on my Kindle in "Apps" but they do not show up for me to play the games. I cannot seem to them.

If I go back to try to download them agan, most of the time, it will give them to me again. Some will say that I already have the app. I show some of the apps twice and others that won't install in "my Apps"

In the apps section on your Kindle Fire, there are two sections "Cloud" and "Device". The Cloud section shows all the apps you have on your account. The Device section shows which apps are actually downloaded to the Kindle Fire. To download an app from the Cloud section to the Kindle Fire, connect to the internet and tap on the app icon.

Note that if you aren't seeing any apps in the cloud section, try these actions:

1) connect your Fire to the internet and Sync it.
2) check that you purchased the apps on the same account the Kindle Fire is registered to
3) Check that the apps are compatible with the Kindle Fire HD

Did you follow the instructions in the second post above?

CheezeIt says:
I have gotten better results selecting the free app of the day directly from the app store rather than from the Free Kindle Books and tips app. If I do it from the Free Kindle Books and Tips app, it launches Silk where it takes me to the Amazon website where I click the get it now link and from there, nothing happens, other than what I noted above.

If I get it directly from the app store itself on the kindle, I'm more like 95% hit rather than 100% miss.

Are you using the Free Kindle Books and Tips app to get the daily free app? If so, I'd suggest not using it for that purpose. Books from that app work just fine so I don't know what's going on.

Next time, follow the steps in the second post in this thread and they will show up sooner. The key is to sync after buying the app.

C. Walls - My post was in very plain English. Spend a little time getting to know your Fire, read the help pages and the user guide and you'll have a much more enjoyable experience.

Hi guys, don't download apps from your PC and then try to sync them to your Device. It will not work! I had the same problem then I figured it out that one is supposed to download apps from the device after that they will appear in your computer. Hope this helps!

The Artist says:
No, you need to connect to wireless and then press the Sync option on your Fire.

Just to clarify. Apps for the Kindle Fire are for the Android OS, and will not work on a Windows computer (or an Apple computer for that matter.)

I'm not sure what you mean. If you are talking about buying apps on the website, you're incorrect. I buy 99% of my apps on the website and have never had a problem. You just need to sync your Fire.

I have followed all those steps..snyn'd my internet...everything...the apps don't download immediately like the books do. It usually shows up an hour to 3 days later. Its very frustrating..and yes, I downloaded them on my device and using the amazon store on my doesn't takes time for it to finally show up. So Laura, I'm sorry, but some of us are having issues beyond the scope of the user guide. Just saying....

Maybe check your Date & Time setting to see if it shows the correct location ? Swipe down at the top, More, Device, Date & Time

All my books and music show up, but my apps don't unless I'm using Kindle Free-Time. They work fine there (unless they're already on my device in which case it'll try to download them unsuccessfully instead of opening them), but they're not in the cloud or anything in regular mode. Downloading in free time doesn't make them available in mode. I deregistered my Kindle Fire and re-registered it, and that's when this happened. What should I do?

I have two kindles registered under my account. i purchased off one and the app will show up a day or two after on the other (not allowing me to purchase the same app on the second kindle. telling me to go to the library and then not allowing the purchase.. ) Did use the suggestion to sync and that did work.

The Artist says:
Why would you want to buy another app, when you can just share it with all Fires registered to your account?

Are both of your Kindles Fires? If one is an e-ink Kindle, then apps won't work on it.

Jade Kerrion says:
What folks are trying to say, and what I have also experienced, is that the Kindle App Library in the cloud doesn't always sync immediately.

I buy an app on my Kindle Fire 7", and it doesn't show up in the Kindle Fire 8.9" library. Syncing doesn't help. Shutting down and restarting the Kindle doesn't help.

The app will show up magically in the library for download hours or days later. So, over the long-run, it is NOT a problem, but for several hours or days, it's annoying that the libraries on my two kindle Fires do not match.
