Just Peachy says:
Do you have a Kindle device registered to the same account as the Paying Prime Membership?

Click on "Amazon Prime" at the bottom of this page. Then Click on "Kindle Owner's Lending Library" and you will find the instructions.

Remember that you must borrow FROM the actual Kindle (and the apps don't work. It must be an actual Kindle device).

What a lot of us do is find the books we'd like to borrow here online, then find them using the Kindle to borrow.

If that is your only reason for having Prime, then you're better off not signing up. The lending library by itself is not worth $79 per year.

This is true. I already have Netflix. I was thinking of getting rid of Netflix and enjoy free shipping, instant movies and books from the library. Everything that I like with one membership .

Mary, Prime is worth the $79 because of the "free" 2 day shipping. While the one book a month that you can borrow might be interesting, it certainly does not justify the cost of Prime.

Prime membership has nothing to do with books from your public library. It just gives you one book per month to borrow from the Prime Lending Library, and most of those books cost around $3.99 anyway, so not a good deal if the lending is all you want.

I agree. While the "one book a month lend" is nice, and I use it, it is definitely NOT the reason I signed up for Prime.

I was lucky to be able to sign up during that testing window offering Prime at $7.99 per month, and for the two months I've been on it already, I've saved at least 3 times the 16 bucks I spent so far on the "free" two day shipping. My hubby loves the Prime videos, too...but it is t he shipping that I like. After the 1st of the year, I'm canceling the monthly Prime and getting the regular annual membership.

With or without the KOLL, I have far and away gotten my $79 worth out of Prime, with the many physical items that I buy from Amazon. I like just clicking, then forgetting, until my stuff arrives at my doorstep. I have used the HECK out of the shipping.

Our household has also watched HUNDREDS of hours of great TV and movies, with the free streaming. Again, they probably LOST money on us, as far as streaming goes. It's pretty much the only TV we watch.

The KOLL is just a little somethin' extra.

I saved something like $76 over the past 12 months borrowing books via KOLL. Plus in July I got a PS3 and a used Kindle Fire, and I have been streaming movies on both alot. Plus, the standard free 2-day shipping. I love the Prime!
