When sending a book to my device a green check mark appears beside it, then when I try sending another book to my device the check mark appears on that book, but from my previous book it disappears and is removed from my device. I am using the usb cable to send the books to my kindle keyboard. What do I do? Please help me!

P.S I am using Calibre

Dittie says:
Where are you trying to send them from, K4PC, Manage Your Kindle, are the files already on the hard drive?

Sorry, I am not really tech savvy or term savvy, but I am sending them from Calibre, converting them from epub or pdf into mobi, then sending them to my kindle.

Dittie says:
No problem. I'm not Calibre savvy so hopefully somebody else can help you with that part of it. Are you sure the files have been converted? I do know that Calibre can't convert DRM-protected files.

Thanks for the help anyway. :) And yeah, I am sure they are converted. I have had all the books on my kindle before, but then I decided to make them look better using Sigil, then I wasn't able to send some of the books anymore. It has happened before, so I think it has something to do with Calibre.

Dittie says:
Sorry about that. There are lots of Calibre users here so it might just be a matter of waiting for the right one to come along and see the thread.

What do you use to manage your kindle?

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 12, 2012 7:38:19 AM PDT
Dittie says:
I just use Manage Your Kindle and wi-fi/3G. I have family members with Kindles on the account and not all devices get all the same content.

Ah okay, that's great. I wish more if my family read, I am the only one with a kindle, so I can't really ask for help and such.

Frank Tuttle says:
"Are you free, Mr. Humphries?"

Bonus points for identifying that reference...

OOPS wrong thread, sorry!

Are You Being Served?

Much as I loved Frank Thornton in that series, I think he was even better when he joined Last of the Summer Wine............

I've had Sony readers since before there was a Kindle so my ePub library is much larger and I'm a little more anal about organizing that. But since I have no need to convert formats, I've never bothered with Calibre.

All piffle aside, Erica, are you trying to send the books from Calibre one at a time or in a batch?

Dittie says:
I was wondering who you were talking to. lol

I have tried one at a time and in a batch, it causes the same problem.

I know, right? xD

This is weird - never encountered this before.

I think your best bet is to go to mobileread.com and post the question there. Kovid Goyal, the creator of Calibre, hangs out there and answers questions, and there are a bunch of Calibre experts there who will help, too.

Don't mind Frank. It's me he's stalking. lol

I have posted there, and he has replied, but his replies are so vague. He told me to put "Email to" not "Email to and delete from library". I dont know what that means.

xD okay. Friends?

Dittie says:
Yes, just giving Frank a hard time.

Ok...........when you send the books to the Kindle, do you use e-mail, or do you use the USB connection?

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 12, 2012 8:17:21 AM PDT
Hehe, that's cool. I don't have any friends that read either. XD

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 12, 2012 8:17:50 AM PDT
I use the USB connection. Is it easier by email? Or how does that work?

In reply to an earlier post on Jul 12, 2012 8:18:37 AM PDT
I haven't done it via e-mail, but it might be worth a try.
