I just got an ipad mini. I previously had a kindle. I am now using the kindle app for ipad. Can I sort my hundreds of books into collections like on my kindle instead of one big bookshelf?

Posted on Dec 17, 2012 11:36:38 AM PST
No, the Kindle iPad app does not support Collections.

So only download the books you want to read in the near future. Then delete them as you read them. It's quite simple really and while you won't be able to brag about your massive collection it'll be easier to manage.

Is there any way to increase the font of the kindle app on the ipad mini beyond the 2 provided fonts? I find the larger one is still too small

If you tap on the Aa button on the right, doesn't the font get larger?

Alcairha says:
yes but there are only 2 settings, and even the larger font is still very small - much smaller than on the regular iPad

Doc Dittie says:
Are you sure about that? Even the iPod Touch has four sizes.

Keep tapping the Aa button on the right. The font will get larger with each tap. There are 16 different font sizes to choose from.

Sarida says:
I managed to tap 16 times between the smallest size and the largest size. I also have six font styles to choose from as well as white, sepia and black backgrounds.

How do I purchase books from my wish list to download to the kindle app on my ipad mini?

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 23, 2012 9:05:07 PM PST
King Al says:
Apple made Amazon remove in-app purchasing, so you need to go to the Safari browser if you want to purchase from your mini.

J. Leek says:
Dodd: I would assume it's the same as buying a regular kindle book. Click on the book you want to buy, got to the right of that page and click on 1 click and it should download to your kindle fire or even to your cloud. If it goes to your cloud you go manage your kindle and they should be there.

I usually use my PC for browsing and purchasing. I send the book to my device of choice although you can send it to more than one device.

i'm trying to figure out how to manage my kindle books on my ipad like i have on my kindle. i see that i can't move them to a file labled already read like on my kindle. so my question is can i move the new downloaded books to the device and keep my old ones in the cloud? would that be recommended

Posted on Jan 1, 2013 3:12:35 PM PST
There are no collections on the iPad app, so keeping books you're not reading in the cloud will probably make managing what your are reading easier.

To download a book in archives, press the cloud button at the bottom of the home page. Press and hold on a book to download. Then press the device button at the bottom to view books on the iPad.

To send a book back to archives, on the device home page swipe left to right on a book and select the red pop-up button.

Collections aren't available yet on the Kindle for IOS, but hopefully they are working on it.

where is the menu and kindle store on the mini ipad app for kindle

In reply to an earlier post on Jan 3, 2013 10:22:14 AM PST
R. D. Clark says:
Lori, just touch the screen and the menu appears. You cannot access the Kindle Store from within the app; use Safari and the regular Amazon website. If you like, once you've navigated to the Kindle Store, use Safari's "send to" menu to "add to the home screen" a link to that page to make it easy to find again. You could even move the icon for the link so it's right next to the one for the Kindle App on your iPad home page.

I have an Ipad Mini and when using the Kindle App for reading - every time I close the book it losses the page and will not sync to last page read.

Try uninstalling and re-installing the app.
