How do I delete the Archives section of my old Kindle? I've already deleted the books from my Amazon library but they still show up in the Archives.

Artist says:
Once your Kindle is deregistered from your Amazon account, the link to the archive list will be broken. If you're not going to deregister it from your account, there's no way to eliminate the archives list.

Once books are permanently deleted from your Amazon account (which you can do at www.amazon.com/myk), they should no longer appear in the Archives section of your Kindle. I suspect you just need to turn on wi-fi and synchronize your device.

I'm giving the old one to my son for him to use but do not want a history on it. Can I deregister and then re-register it?

Yes, but if you want to make sure that none of your preferences are saved, do a reset to factory defaults.

If you re-register it to your account, though, the archives will come back. It's not a history; it's a record of what's on your Amazon account.

To avoid your son seeing any of that, the kindle would have to be registered to a different Amazon account.

But with the recent parental control upgrade you can block access to your archives from most kindle devices. I do this when lending out my spare kindle.

Oh, of course! I forgot that existed - I haven't used it yet :-)

LOL, when I read "old Kindle," I only thought about the K2 or K3, because those are the only ones I have. Of course some people would think that a more recent Kindle was an "old Kindle."

Well, by God, it worked. Thanks again for all your help.
