I have Roadrunner email and the incoming will not work; outgoing will. I have removed it, let Fire set it up and also have set it up manually. Have talked to RR and to Amazon. Anyone have any ideas?

Same thing happened to me with Bellsouth. Can send but not receive. Talked to A&T and Amazon with no solution. Strange thing is two other Bellsouth accounts work fine on the Fire. ???

One of the reasons I purchased this was to access my email on a regular basis. If it can't pick up this particular email, I will have to return it. Of course RR states it is Kindle issue and Amazon says if other emails work on it, then it is not a Kindle issue!

um...try a third-party app - I use K-9, with multiple email addresses from multiple sources - no problems...also used it very successfully on my Gen1 Fire...

Well, I have been playing with this for a couple hours. I have downloaded K-9 and tried manual, automatic, etc. Won't connect to Roadrunner. I have sync'd and all kinds of things. I will try again later. It must be the email. Back to Roadrunner folks.

I finally got it to work with K-9 and when K-9 started working, so did the Kindle app!!!

Here is what I have discovered. I used my wireless with my Fire HD and it will not let incoming email from Roadrunner in. (It will let me send). So, I tried another wireless and the Fire did not let incoming mail in either. I even removed, reset, etc....still it didn't work.

Next, I entered the same info into my iPod Touch and it received email just fine on my wireless and the other one.

My conclusion is that it is a Fire issue. Not an individual device, but the programming of the devices!

They have already had at least one other complaint from a RR customer, but I know they won't do a fix until there are many complaints. So, I have to decide if I am going to keep mine or not.

I have the new Fire 8.9 and have had no problems sending or receiving my Roadrunner emails. Good luck getting your problem solved.

Try this, it worked when all else failed. The word "mobile" did it.

Those are the settings I use. It works with my iPod, not my Fire

I also have rr and have had to reset account three times because of failure to receive incoming messages. I contacted amazon about the problem and there answer was to delete and reset account.

I finally gave up. I reset it more times than I can count. Took it back and purchased an iPad.
