Is there anyway to charge a Kindle Fire on an airplane?

You could also of course charge from the USB port of a laptop, albeit very slowly.

Or you could pick up something like this to extend your battery life - Duracell Instant USB Charger with Lithium Ion Battery/Includes Universal Cable with USB and mini USB

Depends on airline and seat class. Business class seats will nearly always have power outlets.

Southwest will not have power outlets. Small, regional jets like American Eagle or United Express will not. Domestic flights will not, except in Business/First, but newer planes might in Coach - same with short haul international flights to Mexico/Caribbean. Long haul international Coach, some will, some won't - use the seatguru link RDC listed.
