You could also of course charge from the USB port of a laptop, albeit very slowly.

Depends on airline and seat class. Business class seats will nearly always have power outlets.

Very generally...

Southwest will not have power outlets. Small, regional jets like American Eagle or United Express will not. Domestic flights will not, except in Business/First, but newer planes might in Coach - same with short haul international flights to Mexico/Caribbean. Long haul international Coach, some will, some won't - use the seatguru link RDC listed.
