MommaCat says:
You go to Manage Your Kindle. But if you delete it, it's gone forever. Is that what you want?

If you mean deleting the book from the actual Kindle, you touch or highlight the book you want to delete, and get the menu, choose Remove from Device.

Yes....I touch book and the menu pops up...delete book? yes...It just goes to Archived section.

MommaCat says:
Yes, Once it's been Archived, go to MYK on Amazon and find the book. There's a dropdown menu that will give you the option to delete it. It will warn you that's it permanent. Once you click that, it's gone.

3 steps:

1. Remove from Kindle.
2. Remove from Manage Your Kindle.
3. Turn on the Kindle's wi-fi, press Menu, choose Sync and check for items.

That will do it.

I want to delete from my kindle fire so I can give it to my son. I don't want to lose the content all together as I have the books on my iPad and only want them off of the fire

L. Robinson says:
I believe all you have to do is deregister your Kindle Fire and let your son re-register with new ID and password. This will disconnect it from the Amazon library under your registration.

I would add that you need to press hard to highlight the book.

Hi! I went to my manage kindle list. I delete and order books often. I had deleted 3 books and they are still on my PC Kindle. Unless I download or buy them again they do not seem to go away. What do I do?

In reply to an earlier post on Mar 28, 2013 5:32:17 AM PDT
I'm going to politely disagree with this statement. You should NOT have to press "hard" on the screen for any reason.

I do have a theory about that, though, with regard to the Fire. I notice if I hear an email ping, say, first thing in the morning, and try to operate the Fire before getting out of bed, the screen appears to not be as responsive as other times. My theory is that I'm more dehydrated, and my fingers carry less of an electrical impulse.

Oh, I've been watching too much Doctor Who. That's also possible.

Have you synced?

I don't know what that is Folina

Sync means to tell whatever device (Fire, Kindle, Kindle for PC, Kindle for iPhone, etc...) to "talk" to Amazon, and synchronize (where we get the abbreviation "sync") with it.

If you buy a book, it goes into your Archive here at Amazon. But how does your device KNOW to go "get" the book? You have to tell it to sync.

However, I don't have K4PC, so I can't tell you how to do that. Somewhere on your screen, or a menu, somewhere you should see the word, "SYNC".

CBRetriever says:
To manually sync when using Kindle for PC:
Go to the Home screen on the application if you aren't there already.
Click the circle with arrows icon (Sync and check for new items) button in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

at least that's what the help files here say:
