Ernie says:
In the submenu of the browser is a setting for accepting/clearing cookies et cetera.
Web/Menu - then under Saved Data.

The Kindle Fire is already set to accept cookies. Go to Web-settings.

When I try to sign in to my Facebook page on my Fire Kindle, I get a notice that "Cookies are not enabled on your browser. Please adjust this in your security preferences before continuing." When I go to "Settings" and click on "Security", there are no items to adjust for cookies.

How do you get to "web-settings"?

I can't help with specifics, as I don't have a Fire, but have you checked in the Fire user guide, either on the Fire or at http://kindle.s3.amazonaws.com/Kindle_Fire_Users_Guide.pdf

OK folks this is simple. Tap "Web" at the top of the screen. When the Web screen comes up look at the very bottom. there's a "menu" icon about middle of the bottom black bar. (The thing that looks like a graphic representation of a list.) Tap that and you'll get a long list of various settings. Scroll down that list until you see the option "Accept Cookies" or something very similar. Make sure that option IS CHECKED! That's all there is to it. I had t do this for my wife who was getting a message from FaceBook that cookies weren't enabled on her borwser.

Hello Joseph, your instructions are perfect, but after following your instructions for the Kindle Fire, my cookies were already enabled, so I just unchecked it and checked it again, but the same error message comes up when logged onto facebook. Any further instructions???

Joseph - Thank you!!! You may or may not be an IT genius. But you can give technical aid to those of us who barely know the difference between an ipod and an eyelash! Thank you for the so well directed explanation of the solutionto the problem. So few of the cognizenti can speak plainly to those ofus who make up the ignorant class of computer users. Lucky Chuck

Joseph Escue is the only one that offers USEFUL help on this forum. All the other smart 'as'ses' led us on the useless chase. I fixed my cookies problem following Joseph's advice. Thanks Joseph. I would only add that the 'menu' icon looks like a old fashion scrub board.
