hi.
i have a kindle keyboard and i'm planning to purchase a kindle fire. however, i read in a review that the backlight of the kindle fire is not good for longer reading. i use kindle for reading books only.
now, i'm confused on which kindle to purchase.

The Fire is a multi purpose tablet that is baclit with a short battery life. Get the Touch if all you want to do is read.

The Fire is not good for reading outside. If your purpose is to read books, get the touch.

If your purpose is to watch movies/videos, surf the net and email, get the Fire

If what you want to do is read your K3 is fine. Use the money to buy books you want. If you actually want to spend your day playing "Angry Birds" then by all means buy a Fire.

If you are in no hurry, you may want to wait for a month. Many people have been speculating that Amazon will be releasing new models in July - towards the end of July was the last I heard.

I have both. The Kindle Fire is mainly use for movies and games and Magazines. I also have the Key board Kindle for just reading. If I want to sit out to read in the sun, I pick the Keyboard Kindle to read.

Sit down and read on your computer screen for an extended period of time. Pretend like you're reading a book (meaning, don't look away - treat your computer screen like you would your K3 and read that way). That's what reading on the Fire is going to be like.
