I can connect to internet w/ my new kindle fire at starbucks and McDonalds-I of course do not need a PASSWORD, I just hit the accept button and all is well. BUT at the two wireless connection locations ( two different routers) I cannot ignite when I use the apprpriate passwords. What's up with that??? Any Ideas

Dann, there can be many reasons, but listed below are some of the most common. If none of them work, call Kindle customer service.

Some common reasons for Kindle not connecting to WiFi:

1. Are you sure the router password is correct?
2. Is the wireless SSID broadcast enabled in the router setup?
3. Is the wireless Mac filter enabled and preventing an additional connection?
4. If your router is older, does the firmware need updated?
5. Have you tried turning the router and Kindle off then back on and tried connecting
again? (Or perhaps the router has a pinhole or button reset.)

@Dann Crist

Dann, if you are able to connect at some locations and not at others, I would tend to think. That if you have the correct information to connect, and cannot. Then the problem would be with the routers at those locations.
