I was wondering if there is a way to transfer my kindle 3G content to a kindle fire as I would love to upgrade.

Yes, all your Amazon content is kept in your Amazon account.

Register the Fire to the same account and you can download any or all the books on the account to the new device.

If you have already ordered the Fire it should show under the Manage My Kindle section of your amazon account.

All you books will be listed there (if you purchased from Amazon) click the dropdown next to the book and choose the Deliver To option. Then choose the name of your new Kindle Fire.

I have already loaded over 2 dozen books to my new Fire. It will come loaded and ready to go.

none of my books from my computer are transferring. i have so many epub, mobi and pdf file books on my desktop. had no problem getting them to my old kindle. i've been messing with the fire all dam night and NOTHING. it's really bumming me out. i shouldn't have to re-buy my old books AGAIN on amazon. that really stinks.
