Wifi Problems after 6.3 Update. Although have never had them before and all other wi-fi enabled devices are working fine, I am having problems with the Kindle successfully negotiating an IP address with my U-Verse wireless router since the recent 6.3 OS update. Anyone else reported anything similar? thanks

My home screen is blinking in every second since the last update. How to solve this? Documents uploaded from my PC are also not found. Please suggest me.

I would suggest trying a power off/on reset of your wireless router.

I had trouble with my router, too.

First, if you have a 64-character hex key instead of a passphrase, you can't login with 6.3--that's a bug, and you just need to change your network from a hex key to a passphrase.

Second, for some reason I found the Kindle listed in the rejection list of my router's MAC filtering, though it worked just fine a day earlier. I thought that maybe the update changed the MAC address, but other people say it didn't do that. In any case, you might want to look at your router's MAC address filtering. You can look up the MAC address of the Fire in the settings, I think in the Device section.

Yay!! I've discovered that if you use the comma often enough, when you hold down the period it automatically inserts the comma. Seems it "learns" how you type. This is SO much better!

I have a few books/comics that i uploaded to the kindle, they all have the same title but have a number at the end, it used to sort them walking dead issue 1, then walking dead issue 2, then walking dead issue 3 etc... now it sorts randomly and only taking in consideration the first letter, numbers arent being recognized in the sorting.

You have to enable flash in the Silk web browser: Press the menu button -> Settings. Under Settings/Behavior, change the Enable Flash value to Always on.

I am having that problem - their technicians suggest it is my router. I don't have the problem with any of my other wifi equipment.

While I did notice this from time to time in the previous version, I too have noticed it more frequently since the update. This was really annoying when I had to go thru and close the extras one at a time. Thankfully I read in some other thread awhile back that a long press on one of the tabs will let you close them all at once. Now it's not that big a deal. Of course it helps that I'm not worried that someone will see where I've been. : ) I know that has been a problem for some.

Hold the power button down for 20-30 seconds. Should force stop and restart. Glenn

Help! My home screen is blinking in every second since the last update. I can't do anything, as it just keeps flashing the home screen. I tried holding the power button in for 20 seconds, that did not fix it. Anyone?!?

Posted on Mar 31, 2012 4:03:53 PM PDT
I'd try the hard reset one more time. Hold for 30 seconds this time. Sometimes, 20 doesn't do it, but 30+ does.

If no luck, contact AKCS. They can almost always help and do so quickly. I suggest using either the "Call me" or "Chat" options. Both are very quick and easy to use. If you don't know how to find the Contact Us button, just ask here.

Good luck. Please let us know what happens. I'm always interested in the outcome on "new" issues. :-)

Joseph, I would like to set my email back the way it was also. I get a lot of junk mail. I used to be able to skim through it with the edit list and delete a lot of it. Then I would back and read the rest of it. Now it is so tiny I can't see it without increasing each message.

If the programmers are lurking, can you increase the size of the default font. It is very inconvenient to have to use the "pinch" feature on every message. An option to increase the font size like we have to read books would be ideal.
